The featured story is not Buffy / Spike. It isn't even a prequel of a story that may turn out to be Buffy / Spike. Why is it on a Buffy / Spike page, then? Because the featured story is *always* a *very* good pieces of "Buffy" or "Angel" fic. Good stories are not necessarily limited to the Buffy / Spike verse, as you should well know. ;-)

Quite simply, the featured story has something that I feel can help writers understand the Buffyverse better, or readers appreciate it more. It's not chosen at random - each story is carefully selected for a very specific reason. That reason is given below, next to the featured story for the fortnight.

The featured story for 1st March is:

WATCH IT ALL GO DOWN by Carol Hansen "Watch It All Go Down" is a Willow / Xander fic set a few years in the future. Without revealing too much away about the plot, the fic explores the changes Xander has been forced to undergo since he first met up with the Scooby Gang. This is not the same Xander that is flustered upon first meeting Buffy! However, you can see how he changed into the person he is at the fic. The charactarisation of Willow is also especially good. Carol is spot on in tracing how Willow's innate optimism and innocence faded throughout the show - and will probably continue to fade if she grows older whilst remaining in the Scooby Gang. Finally, this story was chosen for the absolutely gob-smacking ending. It hits fast, it hits low, and it leaves you with your breath knocked out of you. Stonkingly good stuff. "Watch It All Go Down" is rated R for sex and violence.
