12th July 2000
Ah, yes, the long absences. *grin* Well, I was away to two conventions, and, er, I got some writing done during them. I also gathered some info on the man himself, our dear James.... and on his alter-ego, Spike! Expect some inspiration soon.

VAMPYR:
- Finally, finally finished this - the "Accents and Britishisms" section. Well, okay, not finished, but nearer to completed. So near that I can post it up. This was co-written with Soulstarsinger, she of "Spiked and Skewered". It's not finished yet - Soul' has a few more idisyncrasies to add, and I'm always finding more stuff Americans find strange about us *g* - but here's what we have so far.
- Updated some stuff on Spike's vital stats - like, who his sire is. Yes, we finally have a definite answer. All breathe a sigh of relief now!

THE ART OF SLAYING:
- Added in the "Prophecies" section. Well, some of it. This bit isn't finished either (what can I say - it's bloody long!) but it *does* cover up to the end of Season 2. And you'd be surprised how prophecy-heavy the first two seasons are! I think that season 3 and 4 will be less work, but we'll see.

9th June 2000
My computer blew up. I can't say much more than that, can I? One minute I'm watching a DVD, the next minute I have no monitor. It took me forever to get a replacement. Let me say it here, I was less than satisfied with the 'customer care' displayed by the Hewlett Packard people. I had to resort to being really really nasty on the phone to get a replacement, and that just didn't put me in a good mood.

To make up for it, I wrote up several large guides/essays/chunks of stuff for various sections, and have been busy typing them up. Have a look:

THEORIES ON FANFIC:
- Well, I got this part of the site functioning, so I'm pleased with myself! *g* Seriously, I was woried about what would go here...... the answer is, of course, everything. This is the 'misc' section of the site.
- "Conversations in Limbo" - this is a guide to how to write and/or bluff a setting.
- "Life and Other Annoyances" - my first set of fanfic rants. I'm working on my second set. Yeah, I'm fussy. ;-)
- "Buttercup" - draft 1. Difficult to explain, this. "Buttercup" draft 1 and "Icarus" (a Babylon 5 story) are used as explanations and examples in the essays/guides mentioned above. I'm quite happy I got these organised, actually. ;-)

THE SEX BIT:
- Finally wrote up the bit on "Sex 101 - m/f" This is the stuff you should already know, but forget to mention. ;-)
- Also added as a little sidebar to that is "Oral Sex Etiquette" - just a little list for guys.
- Added in a series of emails exchanged between myself and Baard Ove Kopperud regarding the use of condoms in the Buffyverse. This has been added in a sidebar to the "Cliches and Triteness" section, as an alternative view to one of my points regarding the number of STDs that the Scooby Gang must have by now....

ART OF SLAYING:
- Added in the "Patrolling" section. I don't remember where I got all of these captures/screengrabs from - I've tried to ask permission and give credit where I remembered the source, but if you see work of yours here you'd like me to take down and/or credit, please email me and I'll do so immediately.

ARCHIVE:
Just been adding in my own work, people, sorry for any misplaced excitement. ;-)

SUPPORT:
- This is perhaps the most important section of the site - it's the bit that supports the writers. This is where you find your beta readers, where you check where to post, where you get in contact with other writers. It's written *for* writers, and *by* writers. Bearing that in mind, I'm proud to archive "Mailing List Mayhem" by Sandy - a guide to online etiquette and common fallacies for writers new to the net. A must-read before you post (also linked to on the "Theories on Fanfic" page).
- Added some more beta readers in. These are coming in faster than I can add them, so please be patient - I have a folder full of emails to get the information off. No one will be forgotten.

VAMPYR:
- Many thanks to zero, who wrote in with information on James' vital stats. This has been duly noted. ;-)

GENERAL:
- Added in the link to the Buffy Bringers on the main page. It's a good cause, go join.

Okay, so there was a great big break in the middle of my updating. Besides which, I lost my list of things updated.... drat drat and double drat. This is what I remember - very roughly!

4th April 2000:
First off, I've updated my "Site Stats" page to reflect the fact that Lisa Drexel and Patrizia Bartes-Hull are goddesses. *g* They're the ones who've helped me out *so* much when it comes to archiving stories. Thank you girls!

Also added to the index page a guestbook (as well as to the contact page), so go sign it now! Added to "The Sex Bit" a forum/message board, where questions / topics may be aired for discussion and clarification.

Added "My Own Work" to "The Archive", with the first three days of "Homecoming" up there (my huge gigantic fic where anything goes.... I'm still hunting down the hapless girl who sent out a challenge that started me writing it! Aaaarrggghhhh!!!!), as well as "Premonitions of Dream Past" (a Spike poem), and "The Fell of Dark", a A:TS fic.

Finally, added a whole bunch of fics to the archive itself. Yeah, yeah, I know I said I'll get more sections active, but I'm kinda snowed under at the moment. *g* I'll try and get another huge update done for next weekend, and then it'll be a few stories with more writers' stuff..... I promise!

12th March 2000:
Added three new sections - "Contacts", "Fanfic Links" and "Support". The "Support" page is going to be rather large, so I'm uploading it in chunks. It's subsection, the list of betareaders, has also been uploaded.

8th March 2000:
Added in a few new sections I hadn't uploaded before - "The Idea" and "Webrings", with a skeleton of "Vampyr" up as well. The "Vampyr" section is quite bare, I'm afraid, beyond a few hard facts. But I'll be adding to it shortly, so not to worry! *g*

4th March 2000:
Added four stories to the Buffy / Spike fanfic archive: "The Bet", "Remembering", "All I Want For Christmas" and "The Final Face".
